Accounts Payable Administrator (1 Year Contract)

To ensure accurate accounting records for payables and disbursements to vendors. This is a responsible, non-supervisory position. Duties include a variety of clerical and bookkeeping tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation of supplier payments and maintenance of the supplier database file.

Essential functions:

  1. Matches packing slips and purchase invoices to supplier invoices, approves supplier invoices following established procedures, audits and posts A/P batches.
  2. Analyzes and posts various requisitions, vouchers, and expense accounts, not requiring purchase orders after verifying/obtaining approval from the proper personnel.
  3. Follows up with buyer/planners on problems such as pricing and quantities, and ensures resolution.
  4. Maintains the supplier database.
  5. Handles suppliers’ telephone calls for payments and balances.
  6. Monitors Accrued A/P reports to ensure all receipts get cleared and all credits are taken.
  7. Prepare cheques, match to invoices, obtain signatures, file backup and mail cheques in a timely fashion.
  8. Ensure time sensitive payments are made on time.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Supplier reconciliations.
  2. Batch freight bills for freight outsourcing.
  3. Review and clearing of intercompany payables.
  4. Process invoices and prepare cheques on a timely basis to take advantage of available payment discounts. Obtain favorable purchase discounts from suppliers whenever possible.
  5. Maintain good relations with all suppliers.

Education:

  1. High school diploma with emphasis in Business Administration curriculum. 

Experience And Background:

  1. At least 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounting, in a high volume A/P manufacturing environment.
  2. Superior computer skills (written and verbal), including exposure to ERP systems. Intermediate level of proficiency in Excel and Word.

Essential functions:

  1. Perform collection calls on delinquent accounts.
  2. Contacts the customers for deductions on their cheques, investigates and relays this information to the proper department for resolution.  Prepares a discrepancy list  and follows up with the department if no reply is received.
  3. Prepares bank deposit, audits and posts receipts.
  4. Processes intercompany payment and receipts.
  5. Prepares and mails customers’ account statements.
  6. Assists in providing back up documentation for audit requirements.

  1. Responsible for providing Quebec Customers with denunciations and releases upon occasion when Credit Supervisor is not available.
  2. Releases blocked sales orders upon occasion when Credit Supervisor is not available.
  3. Back up for payroll clerk.

Education:

Position Summary

Energy Service Engineer

Position Summary

As an Energy Service Engineer you will be reporting to the Team Leader Performance Management Services, the Energy Services Engineer performs duties related to proactive performance management services of connected Armstrong products and systems. 

Some Key Responsibilities

This includes responding to exception reporting of products requiring service or remote diagnostics and the generation and distribution of reports to customers with plant optimization technology and services from Armstrong. The position will be in a matrix role inside the Building Services department and will be expected to interact regularly with staff in Toronto and to accept specific feedback and direction on customer facing reports. In turn, they will be encouraged to provide their thoughts on streamlining processes and/or improving the reports and overall customer experience.

The candidate will play a key role in providing post installation services to our global customer base as part of Building Services, including the reporting component of the ECO*Pulse TM HVAC Health Management service and/or related diagnostic and analytical services.

Specifically, this Engineer will:

  • Extract data from Armstrong’s Design Envelope products, plant control systems and other applicable systems via web connection.
  • Prepare the trend and energy summaries
  • Analyze the data and identify anomalies in individual product or plant behaviour
  • Prepare recommendations for optimizing the efficiency of individual products or the building systems being monitored. 

This position is expected to grow into an expanded role to include additional technical support and be part of small but growing team with niche expertise in performance management, remote diagnostics and building analytics.

The individual(s) must apply his/her proven ability to understand central plant HVAC systems, process large amounts of data and identify root cause(s) of issues.

To provide service support in and around the London area, outside of this area if required in terms of maintenance, repair, commissioning, warranty investigations and service related surveys of all Armstrong products

Key Responsibilities:

Candidate Attributes:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is a self-starter and can operate autonomously with its day-to-day tasks. Candidates with a strong knowledge of fluid management in cooling and heating systems will be preferred.  There will be regular exchange around hydraulic system design and a good grasp of PID schematic is essential.  A strong knowledge and a good contact network around district energy projects will be high on our priority list.

Education:

  • University degree or college diploma in mechanical engineering would be ideal but not essential. A commercial professional with a strong experience in the commercial building sector and a good all-round knowledge of industry dynamic will be looked upon favorably.  

Experience And Background:

  • Minimum 5 years’ design, sales or service experience in the HVAC industry. System knowledge essential.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Language fluency in both German (written and spoken) and English is a requirement

Role Summary

Electrical Project Engineer

Main Purpose of the Role

To work within the overall Engineering Team and to contribute strongly to the design, development, programming, pre-sales and support of new and existing products and systems with an emphasis on Mining and Industrial applications, such as the Oil and Gas market.

To be responsible for the automated test rigs at the Manchester facility

The role is based in Manchester, but will require travel to other countries where RMI product is being marketed and/or sold. 

Principal Accountabilities

The design of electrical and control systems for new and existing products and systems. Constantly review the market for new and improved controls and instruments appropriate for our products and development.

Essential Experience  

  • Associated electronic / electrical controls and design
  • Good application knowledge of PLC-based control systems. Siemens and Allen Bradley preferred
  • Good knowledge of commonly-used communication protocols, in particular Industrial Ethernet.
  • Extensive industrial experience with high pressure equipment
  • Electrical Design experience using at a minimum AutoCAD, but preferably an electrical design package - ideally Solid Works Electrical.
  • Control panel design including component specification.
  • Creation of bill of materials
  • Knowledge of Variable Speed Drive technologies and applications, ideally up to 500 kW. Siemens, Danfoss and Allen Bradley preferred

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of MA, ATEX and NEC requirements for Electrical Hardware (Explosion proof and Intrinsically Safe) coupled with mining, and oil and gas industry experience.

Position Summary

Responsible to provide superb customer service. You will interact with third party service reps and customers both on site and off site, working in a hands-on field service environment with a strong commitment to customer service. Energy Engineer / Specialist – HVAC Systems USA Chiller Plant Optimization

Job Summary/Basic Functions:

  • Develop market opportunities and organizational capabilities to succeed with ‘energy retrofit’ customer projects that employ Armstrong’s Systems Chiller Plant Optimization, including Controls Systems, HVAC Packaged Systems and Building Services.

  • As a technical expert, the Energy Specialist furthers auditing, assessment, application qualification, operating knowledge and general understanding of chiller plant optimization opportunities, related to the “make market” energy upgrade initiatives.

Specific Duties/Essential Functions:

  • Support and mentoring of the solution set for chiller plant optimization including capital equipment requirements and service contracts to North American vertical market customers
  • Apply methodologies to target/qualify service work, and ROI sales opportunities. 
  • A leader by example with long term project management understanding for the support of strategic sales cycles
  • Utilize optimization processes for energy upgrades, including; site audits, site energy analysis reports, base line auditing, explanation of installation and commissioning work scopes, working with site operators and management to assess customer fit, providing technical explanation of the functionality of the Armstrong solutions, convey the financial cost benefit articulations, and understand and research technical aspects of the chiller plant optimization opportunities.
  • Teamwork on customer project proposals and participation in strategic internal and customer events, meetings and tradeshows.

Job Summary/Basic Functions:

Coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments, according to the production and shipping schedules or department priorities.  Procures parts needed for the manufacturing of products.  Is responsible for the transmittal and scheduling of all production orders received for products within the factory for manufacturing within the parameters of the Business Management System.

  • Negotiates and establishes plan(s) of action, sales quota levels, inventory levels, and markets served by our Customer and Representatives.
  • Develops, trains, motivates, and supervises the distribution network within the assigned region.
  • Responsible for developing a distribution network throughout the entire region that covers only the Wholesale, Parts/Service. Will communicate and cooperate with the Sales Manager(s) assigned in a given region that includes the following markets: Commercial Design/Build, Plumbing/Fire Commercial, Industrial, Public Utilities, OEM/National Accounts.
  • Manages all corporate sales programs, as defined in the annual Sales & Marketing Plan.
  • Analyzes the capabilities of our distribution network through the use of Rep Profiles, and monitors monthly sales volume to insure appropriate sales performance is achieved to the agreed budget.
  • Administers weekly communication to both the distribution network and the Sales Development Manager on the activities in the marketplace.
  • Assists in the training and development of all channels of distribution on a broad range of sales and marketing topics such as: product feature and benefit presentations, technical presentations, fundamental selling skills with emphasis on product application at the Contractor level.
  • Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reviews in accordance with Armstrong guidelines, as defined in the annual sales plan.
  • Interacts with inter-company departments as appropriate to insure a high level of Customer satisfaction.
  • Participates in local, regional, and national trade shows and associations.
  • Maintains sales records in accordance with company guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications/Education/Experience:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working with wholesalers
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in sales management supervision in the plumbing/heating wholesale industry.
  • Proven experience selling in the HVAC market
  • Demonstrated strong existing plumbing/heating wholesale relationships.
  • Overall PC proficiency with demonstrated skills using spreadsheets, word processing and presentation programs.
